As part of the development for the masterplan and planning application e*SCAPE developed a spatial design code to accompany the planning application. The spatial code set site wide parameters including the green infrastructure network, sustainable urban drainage strategy, play strategy, character areas, movement and public realm hierarchy, the location of development parcels, massing principles and orientation etc. The spatial code also sets out the requirements for the detailed code which would focus on individual character areas and architectural form and style expected within them.
