e*SCAPE was appointed as masterplanners to develop proposals for a former heavy industrial site in the heart of Acrefair, near Wrexham. The site perched on a hillside overlooking the wider settlement. The proposals created a residential-led mixed use development of 250 homes, public house and food store with associated public realm, open spaces and sports facilities. The proposals gained outline planning approval and the design approach was used at the Welsh Town Planning Conference as a best practice approach to brownfield re-development.
